Quiz league

BY Amy Schambril

“Knowledge is power? No. Knowledge on its own is nothing, but the application of useful knowledge, now that is powerful.”- Rob Liano. If this is true, then today, January 29th, Riebeek College and 7 other schools from the Uitenhage/ Port Elizabeth district were certainly very powerful. Riebeek and Muir co hosted the first round of the Quiz League that takes place every second Tuesday with schools, Victoria Park High School, Muir College Boys’ High School, Theodor Herzl, DF Malherbe,Grey High School, St Dominic's Priory School, Pearson High School, Collegiate Girls’ High School, and Alexander Road High School also participating. Each school gets to co host and provide the quiz for one round. Grey High School came first in the round that Riebeek presented. Casey Els said that she really enjoys seeing friends she has made at quiz as they are very interesting people. The Riebeek quiz league cannot wait for the next quiz as it is quite enjoyable discovering challenging questions that you didn't think you knew and learning about new things. Thank you very much to Mrs Gerber for taking photographs. A big thank you to Mr Bowles for arranging and helping with everything needed for the afternoon.
